HBO has announced a new Game of Thrones prequel series, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” set to take place 100 years before the events of the original series. The show will be based on the “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas by George R.R. Martin and will follow the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg.
The “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas were originally published as standalone stories, but they have since been collected into a single volume. The stories follow the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall, a knight from Flea Bottom, and his squire, Egg, who is actually Aegon Targaryen, the future King Aegon V.
While the original Game of Thrones series was based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series, the “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas are set in the same world but take place several decades earlier. This allows the new series to explore a different era of Westerosi history and introduce new characters and storylines.
The new series is expected to attract a similar level of attention and hype, with fans eager to return to the world of Westeros and see what new stories and characters the show will introduce. No release date has been announced yet, but fans can expect “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” to arrive on HBO in the near future.
